Do you meditate?
If you do, you already know the vast benefits that come with doing a daily meditation practice. If you don’t meditate and you’re not quite sure of what it is or if it’s something that would work for you. I’m sharing 3 benefits to meditation below.
#1 Increases Attention Span
When we sit quietly for 5 to 15 minutes (or more), we raise our ability to pay attention. Meditation helps us eliminate the distractions so that we can focus on giving our spirit what it needs to renew itself —- quiet time.
#2. Eliminates Anxiousness and Worry
Meditation calms the mind and settles our spirits so that we can be present in that moment. We’re not thinking about past events or things in our future that are out of our control.
#3. Increases Self Awareness
When we meditate we are essentially getting in tune with ourselves. Those moments we spend focusing cause us to take notice of the things we’re doing good or bad. From this realization we’re able to self correct, ask questions or just notice a pattern of behavior that we need to focus on.
Now I know this post is all about the benefits of meditation, but if the traditional concept of meditation is a bit of a struggle or you still don’t connect to it, that’s cool. I would suggest carving out some quiet time for yourself where you can read, journal, pray or just sit and enjoy the quiet.
