One thing I love to do is bake. I think a stationery designer I’d definitely be a baker. What I love about baking is that it’s relaxing for me. If I’m stressed out or anxious about something, I will bake something. The process of baking gets me out of my head and present in the moment. I also love being able to enjoy the finished product too. 🙂
A few months ago, I was in Sur la Table just looking, when I stumbled on the Baked NYC packaged cake mix. What was even better is that these cake mixes were on super sale. Now, I couldn’t walk away from such a good deal so I bought the Sunday Night Cake and the Very Vanilla Sprinkle Cake.
I didn’t waste any time trying out the Sunday Night Cake. The cake mix packaging is lovely and it tells you what ingredients you need in addition to the cake mix and frosting that’s already in the box. This is a cinnamon cake with chocolate frosting and it’s DELICIOUS! It was really quick and easy to make and is a great cake to bring to dinner with friends or any small gathering.
Over the Memorial Day weekend, I made the Very Vanilla Sprinkle Cake. This cake is also DELICIOUS but there are a few more steps so it’s not like your traditional easy cake mix. This cake also called for shortening which was a surprise but hey it works. The end result was the yummiest cake that I paired with strawberry ice cream. While I wouldn’t make this cake every weekend like the Sunday Night Cake, this cake is perfect for a birthday or any other type of celebration.
While I never need a reason for to bake or eat cake, if you love baking and have been curious about these cake mixes, definitely check them out. They are perfect for fun gatherings and celebrations big and small.
Have you tried these mixes? What are your thoughts? Have you tried any other high end mixes like these that you loved? Leave a comment and let me know I’d love to hear from you!
