If you haven’t noticed, the SPS website looks a little different. I made some style changes to the website and I couldn’t be more delighted by the final result. What I realized as I wrote this post is that I didn’t capture a screen shot of the old site for you to compare and contrast so how about a picture of the new home page?

If you’re wondering what sparked this desire to update the site, it started a few weeks ago when I was reading some blog post and listened to a teleseminar about branding. One of the themes through all these different readings was visual branding, and it caused me to take a more critical look to SPS. While I liked the old site I thought there was room for some updates and that’s exactly what I did. I’m still working out some of the kinks and have a few more things to add so please pardon our dust.
What I learned through this process is that the style of SPS has changed and the visual style that SPS started with just didn’t match my vision of SPS today and going forward. Through this process, I developed a new-found love and respect for branding and what goes into building a brand. I don’t consider myself an expert and have been learning as I work and build Scratch Paper Studio.
If I could offer one helpful tip it is to embrace your personal evolvement be it with your personal style, product or service offerings for your business or blogging interest. Do not feel tied to a style, product, service or blog that you feel no longer represents you. If you want to make some changes but can’t do it all at once, take small steps.
