A few years back instead of making a list of resolutions, I decided to pick a word for the year. I knew that a list of resolutions wouldn’t last beyond January. I also liked the idea of focusing on one word and incorporating that word into all areas of my life. My word for 2015 was FOCUS and my goodness did I focus. I spent the year focusing on Scratch Paper Studio, and other areas of my own life and thinking about where I wanted to be in 5 and 10 years and the actions I needed to take now to reach my goals. While focus was definitely needed in 2015, this year I wanted a word that is light, fun, and would help me do better at work/life balance and that word is…
- Go at your own pace. This isn’t a race and there are no rules. You move at a pace that’s best for you.
- Do things in small chunks. Trying to tackle something all at once is often how projects go unfinished. Create a schedule and set aside a block of time to organize and/or plan and once time is up, go do something fun.
- Log off. During this time of the year I find myself logging off social media just so I can focus on my plans and goals and not allow everyone else plans and goals cause me to compare or modify mine. Give yourself a social media break so that you can plan and get organize.
