A full and busy calendar can keep us on the go. But that nonstop action can and will eventually take it’s toll. So this weeks Self Care Tip is one I have intentionally practiced. Be still. Yes I know you’ve got all the things that need to be done by this date or time. I get it, but giving yourself 15 minutes to an hour to just sit be still, get quiet and not allow all that busy to take priority is necessary for your overall wellness. There are no medals being won by being the most tired or run down.
Start today. Give yourself 15 minutes of uninterrupted quiet time to just sit and be still. As you do this regularly increase that time to 30 minutes and then an hour. Add it to your schedule and block that time out for yourself. You need it. Now if you’re thinking I need something to do while I sit still, well here are some things to try.
- Do a Devotion
- Color (I have apps on my iPad to color and I LOVE it! This is one of the ways I wind down at night)
- Pray or meditate
This is a self care tip I’ve started to schedule in my planner so that I don’t allow the busy to take over. I hope you can get some quiet time for yourself to just be still this weekend and beyond.
