I loved this idea of making the intention to schedule these things in our calendars each month. I wanted to go a step further and say while you’re scheduling all these things in your calendar, also schedule time for self-care. You can schedule a day, an hour or even 15 minutes each day. Do what works for you. By intentionally scheduling our self care throughout the month it ensures we make time for ourselves and the people who matter most to us. It also creates margin and shifts our schedule from squeezing in time for ourselves around appointments and commitments and reverses it so that these things have to work around our self care and time with friends and family.
By intentionally scheduling time on our calendar for ourselves and the people in our lives we are shifting the focus and putting ourselves first. That is the key purpose of self care.
